Slackware VPS
Posted by admin under Slackware VPS, VPS
Slackware is one of the oldest Linux distribution around that is still maintained. Slackware is all about simplicity and stability. The software packages configuration is in no way modified specifically by Slackware, the configuration is provided by the authors of the package.
Slackware’s package management can install, update and remove packages from the system, however it does not provide dependencies resolution. Although there are 3rd party tools such as slackpkg which do resolve dependencies.
Slackware is a Linux distribution for people who want to learn how things work, it’s suited for Linux enthusiasts and advanced Linux users.
Having Slackware installed on a VPS server makes it easy to just reload to default install in case something went wrong, which saves a lot of time.
